Chain Maille Zip Clip – Japanese
Inspired by Japanese kusari mail armour, this intricate and handmade gift comes with a quick-attach clasp, making it a perfect accessory for backpacks, clothing and more.
Chain maille (sometimes written as chain-mail) is an ancient form of armour that was in common use as early as the 3rd century BCE. It remained in use up until the 16th century CE in Europe, and even later in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Kusari mail often featured butted or twisted links as opposed to the more common riveted armour found elsewhere. This keyring doubles as an homage to this centuries-long tradition, a small slice of history that you can carry around everywhere.
This range is made from stainless steel, a strong and durable metal particularly resistant to tarnishing or general wear and tear.
