Votes for Women Pennant Decoration
This high-quality pennant hanging decoration is handmade using traditional methods, and makes a perfect gift for anyone interested in the history of the Suffragette movement.
During the 20th century, “Votes for Women” became the banner under which the suffragette movement rallied, calling for the right to vote in public elections. Though the movement was suspended when World War I broke out, its aims were eventually realised. Women over 30 and who owned property gained the right to vote in 1918, and it was another ten years before women gained electoral equality with men.
